My girlfriend Nancy and I had made the decision in late 2016 to plan a personal trip to Iceland. Our ultimate goal was to see as much of the country as we could within the 15 days we were there. We spent a few days in Reykjavik on either side of our 3,500km / 10 day road trip around the country. We wanted to witness as much of the beauty as we could during our time there, and I am glad Nancy had the patience to withstand my pulling over every 5 minutes to take a picture or capture some footage.
I had received my newly upgraded RED Epic-W in the mail from Vancouver the morning we had flown out. As well as my Schneider Xenon Primes a few weeks prior, so I knew capturing Iceland in 8K was going to be a treat!
Below are a few images during our 10 days on the ring road.
The small town of Reyðarfjörður that we had camped in for the night. Three shots with the DJI Mavic Pro.
This was our first day on the road, and we were excited, this is the famous Kirkjufell mountain. Four shots with the Canon 1DX & Canon 45mm Tilt Shift lens.
A 20 second exposure in the small town of Norðurland.
Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon
We fell in love with the lonely buildings that were scattered all over.
2 second exposure - Canon 1DX & Canon 16-35mm at 16mm.
Through the hundreds of gigabytes of photo and video captured, along with the thousands of kilometers spent exploring what is called Iceland. We would highly recommend the trek around the country, it's diverse landscape is well worth it.
